Safer Arun Partnership survey
Residents and communities in Arun are being asked to share their views on crime, community safety and the ongoing plans to tackle persistent anti-social behaviour. The more residents that complete these surveys, the better the oversight Arun District Council will have to understand what’s working and what needs improvement.
Arun District Council is running two concurrent surveys from Monday
8 September 2025 until Sunday 12 October 2025. Links to both surveys can be found below.
A local response to local concerns
The Safer Arun Partnership community safety survey is keen to understand more about the issues that most affect residents. As the partnership is currently reviewing its strategic plan, it’s a critical time for the voices of residents to be heard so a robust plan can be put in place.
Chair of the Safer Arun Partnership, Councillor Alan Butcher, said:
“It’s crucial that we consult with residents to hear how crime and anti-social behaviour impacts them. The survey asks them how they feel about their overall sense of wellbeing and safety. The responses we receive will help to shape the ongoing work of the Safer Arun Partnership to drive down crime and support communities to feel safer and more resilient.”

The PSPO public consultation survey
The second survey is asking residents, businesses, and visitors for their views on the Council’s anti-social behaviour related Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO).
Local authorities can implement a PSPO to combat persistent anti-social behaviour and activities in areas where it’s having a detrimental effect on the local community. Restrictions imposed by a PSPO apply to everyone who uses the relevant area and so must be fair and proportionate to the level of nuisance being caused.
The PSPO public consultation survey can be completed here https://forms.office.com/e/Z9NmWrb1gK.
This order is due to expire at the end of March 2026, and it is important that we undertake public consultation to help determine whether to extend, amend or discharge it.
Chair of the Council’s Housing and Wellbeing Committee, Councillor Carol Birch, said:
“We are encouraging residents, those who work in the area and visitors, to take part in this consultation. Their opinions matter and will help to decide whether a PSPO is still required, as well as the restrictions needed to continue tackling anti-social behaviour in the district.”
