Extension to parking time limits

We’re extending parking time limits in Bognor Regis and Littlehampton, increasing the maximum stay to three hours. The changes will come into effect on 1 January 2027.

This follows feedback from residents, visitors and local businesses, who told us that longer stays would better reflect how people use our town centres.

The change should make it easier to spend more time shopping, meeting friends or using local services without having to move your car during your visit.

Alexandra Arts Centre set to open Spring 2027

The Alexandra Arts Centre in Bognor Regis will open its doors to the public in Spring 2027.

The announcement marks a significant milestone for the project and for Bognor Regis, confirming the opening window for what will be one of the most important cultural venues on the West Sussex coast.

The Spring 2027 opening has been agreed jointly by Arun District Council and Arun Arts to ensure the venue, formerly known as the Alexandra Theatre, is ready to deliver the best possible experience from the moment it welcomes its first audiences.

Council awarded funding towards Angmering Sports Hub

People living in Angmering and the wider area are set to benefit from new investment in local grassroots sports facilities, thanks to a £2m grant from the Premier League, The FA and the government’s Football Foundation.

The funding is another step towards moving the sports hub project forward. Plans include a new 3G pitch, grass football pitches, a cricket wicket and a multi-use games area (MUGA), as well as car parking, a play area, outdoor gym, a pavilion with changing rooms and space for community activities.

The full scheme still needs final budget approval at the council’s Policy and Resources Committee.

Second consultation on local government reorganisation in Sussex closes

The second consultation on local government reorganisation (LGR) for Sussex has now closed. Thank you to all who have added their views for consideration.

The government will now consider all representations received for the area in full. Ministers will then decide which, if any, models for reorganisation will be taken forward for Sussex.

Council encourages Armed Forces veterans to reach out

We are encouraging anyone who has served in the Armed Forces to get in touch with our Revenues and Benefits team to see if additional help, discounts and benefits may be available to them.

Even if extra support is not needed now, making us aware of your veteran status could help you access assistance more quickly in the future. We want to make sure that you, as former service personnel, are aware of any support that you may be able to access.
